When Orma points you toward somewhere to book a stay or pick up a travel eSIM and you go through that link, Orma may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. Mostly no. Type a hotel, station or venue and Google-powered autocomplete fills in the address, coordinates and timezone. Enter an airport code and the airport and its timezone resolve automatically.

You add the parts only you know — dates, prices, notes.

Yes, for viewing and light editing — the calendar collapses to a one-day view with touch-friendly controls, and you can hold an event to drag it. Heavy planning (split-screen scenarios, rearranging lots of events at once) is best on a bigger screen.

Yes. Every change on a shared trip is attributed to whoever made it and recorded in an activity feed you can scroll back through — and roll back if something is not right.

It settles into your Atlas — a personal record of everywhere you have been, with a yearly almanac, postcards and stamps. Nothing to write up; it builds itself from the plan you already made.

Only trips you actually took count. Scenarios you sketched and abandoned do not follow you home.

Export it from inside the trip. You get two things:

• A self-contained file that works offline — open it in any browser with no signal and no app, and it prints cleanly.
• A calendar file (.ics) to drop into whichever calendar app you already use.

There is no PDF export. Print the offline file from your browser if you need paper — that route gives you a better-looking page than a PDF would.

If you book or buy through one, Orma may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. They're conveniences, not endorsements, and to help Orma remain viable: do your own searching and comparing (pricing, coverage, cancellation terms) and choose whichever option suits you best — booking direct is sometimes cheaper.

Where they appear. Only in a few places, and only where Orma has something genuinely useful to point at — somewhere to book a stay, or a travel eSIM. Each one is marked as an affiliate link right where it sits, with a short note you can open before you click.

What it does not change. The app behaves identically whether you use them or not. Nothing is gated, nothing is nagged, no feature is withheld. Orma does not reorder or rank anything to favour a partner, and does not sell your data — affiliate commission is the only revenue, which is what keeps the app free with no paid tier.

What we ask. Compare before you commit. Booking direct is sometimes cheaper, and the right answer for your trip is the one you found by looking.

Not a chatbot. Orma has no assistant of its own and does not send your trips anywhere to be summarised.

If you already use an AI assistant — ChatGPT, Claude — you can connect it to Orma yourself, under Account → AI Assistants. Permissions are scoped and revocable: read-only or read-and-write, across your whole account or only the trips you pick.

Edits it proposes to a trip's events wait for your approval before they land, and each one is logged and reversible. So does deleting anything — an event, a scenario, or the whole trip. Because deleting a scenario or a trip cannot be undone, approving one asks you to confirm a second time, and only a trip's owner can approve deleting it.

A few things do apply straight away under read-write access: creating a trip, creating a scenario, switching which scenario is active, leaving advisory notes beside Orma's own itinerary checks, and any wishlist change, including deleting a wishlist entry — which goes to Recently deleted and restores for 30 days, so it is the one deletion an assistant makes that you can simply undo. A read-only connection writes nothing at all — grant that, or a per-trip scope, if you want a harder guarantee.

Once connected, it is most useful for drafting a week onto the canvas, running the same itinerary checks the app does, reading the trip's budget and packing list, and keeping your wishlist.

Anytime. Account → Your data downloads a machine-readable backup of everything you own — trips, scenarios, events, wishlist, packing lists and preferences — as a single JSON file. Because it is everything, you are asked to sign in again first; the download starts right after.

For a readable itinerary you can print or use offline, use Export inside a trip instead. No lock-in either way.

From your account page. It is deliberately hard to do by accident — tick a box, type DELETE — and then a seven-day countdown starts. Your account keeps working the whole time, and you can cancel right up until it runs.

When it does run, your personal data is permanently removed. Trips you shared can be kept for their remaining members, with your name shown as "Deleted user".

You are not locked out afterwards: you can sign up again later with the same email address. It just starts an empty account — nothing from the old one can be brought back, by you or by us.

The export control sits directly above delete. Take your backup first if you want one.

The Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy are the full, current text, and they are the agreement — this FAQ explains how Orma works but never overrides them.

Each is version-stamped, and the version you accepted is recorded against your account. When they change you get notice in the app well before the new version takes effect.
